The La Costa Canyon offensive attack mirrors that of the New Orleans Saints offense: big play, big yards, big athletes, and tons of points to make any fantasy wizard drool over.

But it was La Costa Canyon Gang Green defensive that shut down the Fallbrook Warriors on Friday night, 41-7. La Costa Canyon is still undefeated at 9-0, the schools best start ever.

Mavericks opened the game on defense, immediately pressuring the Fallbrook quarterback and planting him on his back on many occasion. With defensive's tenacious play, led by Adam Witzmann (2 sacks), Ian Seau (1 interception), Paul Quessenberry (1 sack), and Alex Pardieu (1 interception), the hostility of La Costa Canyon slowed the Warrior offense, even though they ended with a little over 300 total yards. Defensive back Tucker Toolson had some hits. Seau tipped a ball at the line of scrimmage and interepted it himself.

La Costa Canyon tank of a runningback Seth Hanson, pounded with 114 yards and 3 rushing touchdowns. Junior quarterback Garrett Krstich added 2 rushing touchdowns of his own. Senior wide receiver Jacob Siem has come on strong since the middle of the season, emerging as a valuable posession receiver. Siem led the receivers with 3 catches for 57 yards.

The Mavericks host district rival Torrey Pines this coming Friday at La Costa Canyon. Should the Mavericks win, it will cap the school's first ever undefeated season and easily guarantee them a lock for the number 1 seed heading into the Divsion I playoffs.

Oceanside is ranked #4 in state by CalHiSports... LCC is #17.... O-side is a good team but either completely overrated or LCC is completely underrated. I'd say they are about even. Oceanside has not be any really good teams. They Beat Poly who is a big name but their team is not the powerhouse that they were years ago.
